NEWDIGATES GIANT KILLING CONTINUES !

Newdigate complete their second giant killing act of this seasons Tribune Challenge Cup.

Having already dispatched of Premier League leaders Drayton, Newdigate United of NUNEATON TROPHIES LEAGUE THREE were this time up against unbeaten MARK BLAIR FINANCE LEAGUE TWO leaders Athletico Duke.

They were again able to beat higher league opponents winning the game 7-4 to book their place in the Quarter Finals thanks to goals from Kai Smith, Vik Persaud, James Lloyd and 2 each for Cole Burchell and D’lanie James. Nathan Turner and Braydon York each scored a brace for The Duke.

Royal Trent are the first club to secure a place at a Cup Final this season after a 3-1 win over Barwell Cricketers in the SCREAM ENTERTAINMENT - LEAGUE ONE CHALLENGE CUP Semi Final. Connor McCallum hit 2 and Michael Sadler the other for Trent. Cam Atkinson was on target for Cricketers.

In Round Two, Hearty Goodfellow edged out Coniston Tavern to earn a place in the other Semi Final. Kye Wilson, Jonni Biddle and Craig Ashby with the goals. Aden Moore and Daniel Richards were on hand to make sure Coniston pushed them all the way. Haunchwood Sports await Hearty in the Semi.

Rumour Mill (Barwell) faced off against Hinckley Wanderers in the LEAGUE THEE CHALLENGE CUP with a place in the Semi Finals at Stake. After a goalless first half, Rumour Mill struck first through Joe Randle before Sam Pinkerton’s free kick for Hinckley on 80 mins looked to be sending the contest to the dreaded penalties but with 3 minutes to go Luke Newton slammed home the winner to send Rumour Mill to the Semi Finals.

In Round One, goals from Joshua Purkiss, Dan Kent and Jack Cronk was enough to claw Earl Shilton Town back from 2-0 down to beat Hearty Goodfellow Reserves 3-2. Macaulay Fellows and Connor Woolaston scoring for Hearty.

Earl Shilton will meet SS Bulls Head in Round Two after 2 goals a piece for Josh Atkinson, Ryan Brightwell and Jarrod Stone helped them pick up a 6-0 win over Lamb and Flag.

Over in League action, Bedworth Ex-Serviceman went 5 points clear in 2nd place only a point off the leaders in MARK BLAIR FINANCE LEAGUE TWO after beating Bermuda Park 6-0 Harvey Westwood took his season total to 21 with a hat trick with the other goals coming from Dave Baynham, Kielan Thackeray and Kyle Aubrey.

Acorn picked up an important 3-1 win over Saunders Hall thanks to goals from Ryan White, Jordan White and Daniel Thompson. Sam Forster scored the Saunders goal.

Only 2 points separate Travs and Conny United and there was nothing between the two sides in this game as it finished 3-3. Freddie Wakelin, Michael Hutchinson and Daniel Brown scoring for Travs. Dan Hendrie, Jacob Pears and George Iliffe on target for Conny.
