September Respect Report and Tables

Spartan South Midlands Football League Respect Programme
Report September 2015 by Bob Flight

Now with two months into the new season, we can see how the League Respect Programme is progressing.

An early comparison with the same period last season shows that C2
incidents are up by 5%, sending off offences have risen by 25% but bench incidents have fallen by 54%. The average sportsmanship mark has dropped by 4% to 76.85. Clubs need to keep monitoring their players conduct so that we can better the figures of last season. A word of thanks to all clubs that have managed to instil an improved bench conduct with their managers & coaches etc.

Premier Division
The top half of the Respect Table continues to do well with special mention to Colney Heath and Holmer Green who had zero penalty points during September. Good performances also from Berkhamsted and London Tigers. Worse performers were Sun Sports who now hold up the rest of the table with a disappointing 56 penalty points - 48 in one month!

Division 1
Whilst Crawley Green are the outstanding team with zero points over two months, generally the division continues to give cause for concern. The teams in the top half of the table are doing well but those at the lower end need to urgently improve their Respect performances. In particular New Bradwell St. Peter and Codicote.

Division 2
A reasonably good month with a good performance from Mursley in particular. Good performances also from Stony Stratford, Grendon, Pitstone, Amersham and Loughton Manor who all scored zero points in the month. Those teams in the Red section just need to arrest their slide and improve performance.

Reserve Sections
A little too early to get a view but those already in the Red section need to monitor and improve their performances.

Clubs that are shown in the Red, unacceptable, section of the respective tables must make every effort to improve their Respect performances as soon as possible. I will be closely monitoring the worst offenders and will take actions accordingly if no sign of improvement is forthcoming.

Clubs are reminded to ensure that their general conduct is of the highest possible standard and this includes the hosting of visiting teams and officials. Also, away clubs are reminded to ensure that they leave the changing rooms in as tidy a condition as possible and do not allow their players to clean their boots in the showers! The League will support any home club should they make a charge to the visiting club for any extra cleaning of the changing rooms over and above the accepted norm.

Respect Awards Season 2015 - 16

Once again Hereward Sports are sponsoring the monthly Respect Awards of £100 worth of sporting clothing or equipment, this excludes any postage costs. The awards for August and September will be made at the next League Management Committee Meeting and advised to clubs via the meeting’s minutes.
