October Respect Report and Tables

Spartan South Midlands Football League Respect Programme
Report October 2015 by Bob Flight

A steady month for the Respect programme with a number of clubs improving their Respect records.
Dissent incidents (C2) still are above those of the same period last season but are holding at 5% now over the last two months and whilst the performance this season has got no worse, it needs to improve during the next period. Sending off offences have fallen substantially over last month and are now just 1.3% above those of last season so we are heading in the right direction. Bench incidents continue to fall over those of the same period last season and this month the fall has been 35.2%. The average sportsmanship mark has dropped by 2% to 77.99 but is a small increase on the September figure.

Premier Division
More clubs (59%) are in the good green section of the Respect table which has seen a corresponding reduction of clubs in the brown must improve section (32%). Those two clubs in the red unacceptable section (9%) must do better although bottom club Sun Sports did show a small improvement.

Division 1
A better month for this division with 50% of clubs now in the good green section of the Respect table. The brown and red sections have slightly improved to 35% and 15% respectively.

Division 2
A good month for this division with an improved 61.1% of clubs in the good green section of the respect table. Good performances from those clubs in the brown and red sections who improved their positions to 27.8% and 11.1% respectively

Reserve Sections
This section continues to show good performances with 53.6% of clubs in the good green section of the Respect tables. However, 7 clubs are now in the red unacceptable section, an increase of 2 from September, so more work needs to be done to improve the situation.

Respect
All clubs are reminded to ensure that their general conduct is of the highest possible standard and this includes the hosting of visiting teams and officials. Also, away clubs are reminded to ensure that they leave the changing rooms in as tidy a condition as possible and do not allow their players to clean their boots in the showers! The League will support any home club should they make a charge to the visiting club for any extra cleaning of the changing rooms over and above the accepted norm.

Once again Hereward Sports are sponsoring the monthly Respect Awards of £100 worth of sporting clothing or equipment, this excludes any postage costs. The award for October goes to Colney Heath for their great Respect record over 17 games and their vast improvement from last season.
