December Respect Report and Tables

Spartan South Midlands Football League Respect Programme
Report December 2015 by Bob Flight

A steady month for the Respect programme with a number of clubs improving their Respect records. Dissent incidents (C2) fell for the second month in succession over those of the same period last season by 1.0% (4.4% last month) maintaining the improvement in November. Sending off offences were slightly up by 0.9% and have reversed the trend so far this season. Bench incidents continue to fall over those of the same period last season and this month the fall has been an improved 35.5% (35.2% last month). Well done to all clubs.

Premier Division
There was a drop in clubs, 54.5% (60% last month) in the good green section of the Respect table which has seen a corresponding increase of clubs in the brown must improve section 36% (31% last month). Those clubs in the red unacceptable section remain the same at 9% with the worse performer being Hertford Town who fell down the table to bottom following their four bench incidents during the month. The club must ensure that they instill some much needed discipline to their bench personnel.

Division 1
A much better month for this division with an increased 60% (50% last month) of clubs now in the good green section of the Respect table. This has shown a reduction of clubs in the brown section of 25% (35% last month). The red section remains unchanged at 15% although the bottom clubs did marginally improve.

Division 2
A consistent performance this month for this division with 58.8% (58% last month) of clubs in the good green section of the respect table.
Similar from those clubs in the brown and red sections at 29.4% and 11.7 respectively (29.8% and 11.8% last month). Clean Slate lead the way following the slide down the table of Amersham. It was a desperate month for Pitstone & Ivinghoe who doubled their seasons total in just one month and now have the worse Respect figures in the whole League and remain rooted to the bottom of the Respect table.

Reserve Sections
Steady progress for both divisions with some good individual performances although Welwyn Garden City had a poor month in the S.E. Section.

Respect Award
Once again Hereward Sports are sponsoring the monthly Respect Awards of £100 worth of sporting clothing, this excludes any postage costs. Whilst Crawley Green still have an unblemished record they only played two qualifying matches during the month, so the award for December goes to Holmer Green who were the most improved club with no respect penalty points during their five games during the month.
