SSYFL Mission and Culture Statement
SSYFL Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide the best possible conditions for the continual growth and development of young players skills and abilities within a safe and positive framework of healthy competition that supports and maintains the highest standards of sportsmanship within the game.
SSYFL Culture Statement:
Football is a wonderful game from which young people can obtain huge enjoyment whilst developing their physical fitness and skills, their friendships, their sense of worth both as individuals and as members of a team and their sense of awareness and pride in their achievements.
SSYFL was created in order to provide clubs and their players with a competitive league environment that operates in the very best interests of every player. We place the welfare and development of the player at the centre of our planning and operations, following FA best practice for each age group. We will give priority to time on the ball, supporting and encouraging coaching opportunities, avoiding over playing and making the league as fully inclusive as possible.
We will promote an atmosphere of consistent and positive support and encouragement for all players and work to eliminate any practices that are contrary to good sportsmanship or giving precedence to adult ambition over the individual or wider interests of the players.
